Netcraft has posted the results of their rankings of the Most Reliable Hosting Company Sites for June 2005.

There was a three way tie for the number one spot between Rackspace, Interland, and 1and1.com. Rackspace is listed first due to faster dns response times and quicker initial connect times. The three hosting companies were tied for percentage of failed requests, which is the data that Netcraft considers the most important when ranking hosting companies.

Rackspace was also number one for the months of February, March and April 2005.

It is interesting to note that of the top three hosts, two are linux hosts (Rackspace and 1and1.com) and one is a windows host (Interland). Also, of the top ten hosts, three are linux, three are windows, three are FreeBSD, and one is solaris — a pretty even operating system distribution among the top hosts.
