Nokia Ships Linux Powered Internet Tablet
Bookmark on del.icio.us or FurlNokia has begun shipping there first Linux Powered consumer device, the 770 Internet Tablet.

The Nokia 770 Internet Tablet is a small tablet device designed to provide many online functions in a portable device. Both WiFi and Bluetooth networking are built in and there is an 800 x 480 pixel color touch screen and 64MB of memory available for user file storage. Memory can be expanded via an MMC slot. A full Linux Distribution is installed on the 770 including an Internet Radio Player, RSS News Reader, and an on-screen keyboard.
Nokia is also making a complete software development kit available for download including all the source code for everything installed on the 770 Tablet. In addition, they have launched a community website (Maemo.org) to help support development of third party software for the 770 Tablet.
This sounds like an exciting product, especially since Nokia is making the 770 Tablet very accessible to developers. I can’t wait to see what some creative people do with this device!
